Manuel V. Pangilinan

President Commissioner

Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan, a Filipino citizen, was first appointed as President Commissioner of Indofood based on the resolution of the AGM in 1999 with the latest reappointment in 2021. He served as Managing Director of First Pacific Company Limited since its founding in 1981 until 1999. He was then appointed as Executive Chairman until June 2003, after which he was named Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Pangilinan is the Chairman, President and CEO of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (Chairman 2006-present), Chairman of PLDT Inc. (2004-present), Smart Communications, Inc. (1998-present), ePLDT Inc., PLDT Communications and Energy Ventures Inc. (2004-present), Manila Electric Company (2012-present), Global Business Power Corporation, Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (2007-present), Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, NLEX Corporation (2008-present), Philex Mining Corporation (2002-present), PXP Energy Corporation (2009-present), Landco Pacific Corporation, Medical Doctors, Inc. (Makati Medical Centre) (2005-present), Davao Doctors, Inc. and Colinas Verdes Corporation (Cardinal Santos Medical Centre) (2008-present), Mediaquest Holdings, Inc., and Associated Broadcasting Corporation (TV5) (2009-present) and Vice Chairman of Roxas Holdings, Inc. (2013-present).

He holds chairmanships with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (2001-present), PLDT-Smart Foundation Inc. (2002-present), One Meralco Foundation Inc. (2011-present), Makati Medical Foundation Inc. (2011-present), and the Board of Trustees of San Beda College (2008-present). He is Co-Chairman of the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (2009-present), the Board of Trustees of Stratbase Albert del Rosario Institute, and the U.S.–Philippine Society. Mr. Pangilinan is also a Director of the Philippine Business for Education.

Mr. Pangilinan obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ateneo de Manila University in 1966, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968.

He has no affiliation with the members of the BOC or BOD, but is affiliated to the Company’s substantial shareholder.
