John William Ryan

Commissioner

Mr. John William Ryan, an Irish citizen, was appointed as a Commissioner of Indofood based on the resolution of the AGM in 2019 with the latest reappointment in 2021. He concurrently serves as Associate Director (2019-present), Group Chief Sustainability Officer (2018-present) and Group Chief Investor Relations Officer (2018-present) of First Pacific Company Limited. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of Group Corporate Communications of First Pacific Company Limited (2010-2019). Prior to joining First Pacific Group, Mr. Ryan was Head of Corporate Communications, Asia Pacific at HSBC’s wholesale bank (2004-2007), and Bureau Chief of Dow Jones in Moscow and Hong Kong (1998-2004). He also spent five years as a financial journalist in Bloomberg’s Moscow bureau, which he pioneered and led in the early 1990s.

Mr. Ryan obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut in 1988 and completed a Master of Philosophy course on Slavonic and East European Studies at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University in 1990.

He has no affiliation with the members of the BOC or BOD, but is affiliated to the Company’s substantial shareholder.
