Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan, 72, a Filipino citizen, was first appointed as President Commissioner of Indofood based on the resolution of the AGM in 1999 with the latest reappointment in 2018. He served as Managing Director of First Pacific Company Limited (“First Pacific”) since its founding in 1981 until 1999. He was then appointed as Executive Chairman until June 2003, after which he was named Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Pangilinan is the Chairman, President and CEO of PLDT Inc. (“PLDT”) and Smart Communications, Inc. (“Smart”), Chairman of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (“MPIC”) (2006-present), Manila Electric Company (“Meralco”) (2012-present), PLDT Inc., PLDT Communications and Energy Ventures Inc. (2016-present), Mayniland Water Services Inc. (2007-present), Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, NLEX Corporation (2008-present), Philex Mining Corporation, PXP Energy Corporation, Landco Pacific Corporation, Medical Doctors Inc. (Makati Medical Centre) (2005-present), Davao Doctors, Inc. and Colinas Verdes Corporation (Cardinal Santos Medical Centre) (2008-present), Mediaquest Holdings Inc., and Associated Broadcasting Corporation (TV 5) (2009-present); and the Vice Chairman of Roxas Holdings, Inc. (2013-present).

He holds chairmanships with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (2001-present), PLDT Smart Foundation Inc. (2002-present), One Meralco Foundation Inc. (2011-present), Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (2009-present), Board of Trustees of San Beda College (2008-present) and Makati Medical Foundation Inc. (2011-present).

Mr. Pangilinan obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ateneo de Manila University in 1966, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968.

He has no affiliation with the members of the BOC or BOD, but is affiliated to the Company’s substantial shareholder.
