Environmental Policy

We are committed to conducting our business in a sustainable manner across our operations. Our Environmental Policy describes the key principles that guide business units across the Group:

  • Adhere to relevant rules and Government regulations on environmental management;
  • Utilize natural resources and energy in an effective and efficient manner;
  • Take preventive measures against pollution of water, air, and soils through continuous improvement, environmental assessment, and the application of new technologies, regulations and the need of our Company to obtain optimum results;
  • Strive to conserve water and protect biodiversity, including efforts to reduce and utilize waste by adopting “Reuse, Recycle, and Recovery” principles;
  • Increase awareness and competency of all employees in environmental management.

 

Our Sustainable Agriculture Policy provides guidelines for producing palm oil that is safe, traceable, and sustainable. The policy applies across all of our operations, including smallholders and third parties’ suppliers from whom we purchase for our factories. Underpinning this policy are the following core commitments to deliver sustainably produced products:

  • No deforestation and conservation of High Conservation Value (HCV) and High Carbon Stock (HCS) areas
  • No planting on peat regardless of depth
  • No burning
  • Respect for labor and human rights including freedom of association and non-discrimination
  • Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC)
