Occupational Health and Safety (“OHS”)

Indofood is committed to creating a safe and healthy workplace for all its employees as well as for contractors and guests visiting its facilities. This commitment is outlined in our Health and Safety, and Environmental Policy, which is in line with the Government Regulation No. 50 Year 2012 on the Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (“SMK3”). Indofood has implemented SMK3 in all of its operating units. As of 2017, many of Indofood operating units were certified to the national standard of SMK3 and some of them were certified international standard of Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001. The adoption of OHS at the workplace aims at minimizing work injuries, accidents and damage to properties. The OHSAS 18001 certification has also provided greater confidence of overseas buyers towards the company.

A health and safety committee, P2K3 (Panitia Pembina Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja), was formed in each operating unit to oversee the proper implementation of health and safety measures. It conducts regular workplace inspection and audit as well as evaluation of workplace accidents, and reports to the management with its recommendations. We also investigated all the accidents and implemented appropriate measures to prevent recurrence. Several units have received awards from the Ministry of Manpower for zero accident.
