SUN Movement
Nutrition for All

The SUN Movement is a global public-private partnership, with operations in 59 countries aimed at eliminating all forms of malnutrition. It is supported by the SUN Business Network (SBN) which has more than 200 company members, including Indofood. Indofood is the global co-chair of the SBN advisory group. Through SBN, Indofood is actively advocating the Presidential Decree No. 42 of 2013 on National Movement to Accelerate Nutrition Improvement within the Framework of the First 1,000 Days of Life. Indofood has developed several programs in support of the SUN Movement such as:

Integrated Health Post (“Posyandu”)
The Company continued to improve the quality of Posyandu buildings across its estates in Indonesia, supports medical equipment, as well as capabilities of Posyandu’s personnel. These remote health posts provide free health checkup for expectant and lactating mothers in the local communities. New mothers are also being taught nutrition and balanced diet for themselves and their infants. We have also provided health booklets to educate the public visiting the Posyandus.

Nutrition for Workforce
Indofood continued the Nutrition for Workforce program to raise nutrition and health awareness in the workplace and to maintain a healthy and productive workforce. Employees were nominated and trained as Peer Educators to share their knowledge on balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyle with fellow colleagues.

Indofood Nutrition Mobile Service
Indofood Nutrition Mobile Service is a fleet of mobile clinics that pay scheduled visits to the Posyandus in six provinces across Indonesia where they provide free counseling and consultation to expectant and lactating mothers. The program also uses these opportunities to raise the mothers’ awareness on the importance of early childhood nutrition, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. Indofood Nutrition Mobile Service is equipped with fetal monitoring equipment that can provide free checkup for expectant mothers. Given its mobility, the program has successfully engaged and served many expectant mothers as well as lactating mothers and their infants.

Healthy Breakfast
Healthy Breakfast is a program jointly held by the Indonesian Nutritionist and Food Expertise Association, the Association of Indonesian Nutrition Education Institution and Indofood. It aims at raising the awareness of parents, elementary school teachers and students on the importance of healthy breakfast, which is in line with the Ministry of Health’s drive to promote a healthier diet.
